Just one year after its launch on the European market in October 2008, the new Ford Fiesta has managed to score a half million units sold, results that have become a benchmark for the manufacturer, which is preparing to bring the little hatchback in North America and other key Asian markets.
After entering the European market, followed by South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and China, with global sales that reached 470,000 units, 430,000 copies have been sold in Europe and 40,000 units in Asia-Pacific region.
In October, Ford managed to sell another 50,000 units worldwide, a result which pushed the total number to 500,000 copies Fiesta.
The new Ford Fiesta will be first public appearance in North America International Auto Show in Los Angeles in December, following the sales to begin next summer.


Mountune, the British tuner from Ford came with an sportier version of the Ford Fiesta. They upgraded the 1.6 Liter Version from 120 BHP to 140 BHP. This package, which is basicly an upgrade costs only 1.400 Euro and will be available for the Fiesta Ti-VCT Sport and Titanium. 20 BHP more are enough to get this little car to 60 in just 7.9 Seconds with 2 Seconds faster than the standard version.

Ford announced that they`ll launch a new sedan model of Ford Fiesta for the Chinese market, and just for them at the moment. The announcement was made at Guangzhou Auto Saloon. Unfortunately this model won`t be available for US and European market for the time being. They say that this model will suffer some changes until his launch in Europe and USA.
If it was for our call, we won`t change a thing. This car looks awesome and is based on the Iosis Concept available in the new Focus, the New Mondeo, etc. We sure look forward to see this car on our streets.
