At the beginning of the 2009 Ford will suspend Car production in their Factory from Spain, Almussafes for 21 days. This is due to the Crisis and will affect the 5.177 people working there. They say that no one will be fired and there is no need to worry since Renault announced a similar thing.
Well, Ford wants to sell the Factory from Blanquefort, France that produces Automatic Gearboxes for Models delivered in Thailand, US and Australia. They`ll finish the current production in 2011 and they hope to finish the negotiations until March 2009.
The French Govern wanted to save the jobs of those 1600 workers from the factory and selling it is the best course of action. The new buyer wants to extend the Factory and thus to hire new workers. They didn`t said who the Buyer is.
On his debut in London they said that this new RS model will have a 2.5 Liter, 5 Cylinders turbocharged engine capable of sending this little car from 0 to 100 Km/h in just 6 sec with a Top speed of 260 Km/h. Later on they said that the new RS will accelerate from 0 to 100 Km/H in 5.9 sec and a top speed of 263 KM/h.
Well, it`s not a big difference but the price is. The new RS will cost 39.000 Euros while his smaller brother the ST with an engine delivering 225 Horsepower will start from 29.980 Euros.
The ne w RS will be available in 3 colors: Performance Green”, “Indianapolis Blue” si “Frost White”, with green or blue interior. I can hardly wait new photos with a Indianapolis Blue RS.
Camilo Pardo and the guys from Heffner Performance made a special edition of the Ford`s super pony the GT. The Twin Turbo Kit produces just 900 horsepower and can get to 150Mph in just 1/4 Mile. Now that`s a good car for drag races. Off course they modified the interior and the exterior as well but the changes are quite subtle.

A truck full of brand new Ford Ka burned to the ground in Poland. Well that`s definitely a bad start for the new Ka and a great loss for the dealer. Around 10 cars burned to the ground and the cause of the fire is still unknown. What a pity.
Ford will launch another model of their Pickup Truck F150 in 2009. It`s big, It`s Solid and definitely is made of off-road. They say that this car is the best in his class and maybe they`re right. New Engines will come in this new car: 5.4-liter V8 with 320 HP at 5000 RPM and 390 lb-ft of torque at 3,500 RPM, 4.6-liter three-valve V8 delivers 292 HP at 5,700 RPM and 320 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 RPM and a carryover 4.6-liter two-valve V8 with 248 HP and 294 lb-ft of torque. The top 2 engines comes with 6 gears transmission.
The price starts at $21,320 for the XL up to $41,415 for the Platinum, and considering that there are over 9 millions trucks sold in the past years we think this car will be a real hit.
Ford announced that they`ll launch a new sedan model of Ford Fiesta for the Chinese market, and just for them at the moment. The announcement was made at Guangzhou Auto Saloon. Unfortunately this model won`t be available for US and European market for the time being. They say that this model will suffer some changes until his launch in Europe and USA.
If it was for our call, we won`t change a thing. This car looks awesome and is based on the Iosis Concept available in the new Focus, the New Mondeo, etc. We sure look forward to see this car on our streets.

Yes, It`s true. After the general crisis and the announcements made by ford America that they could close their gates forever, Ford Europe announced that they had a profit of $54.000.000 for the third quarter. This is quite a good announcement since a few days ago the same company said that the European auto industry will need around $40.000.000.000 to save it from collapse.
Ford loosed just 2.4% from the market and so they think that 2009 will be another year with some profit. We hope the best for them.
Always there will be some real dedicated fans to supercars that will try to custom their own car in order to look similar to the dreamed supercar. A guy from Spain made a pretty good replica to Audi R8, the car that makes your head turn every time you see it. Since he doen`t have $105.000 to spent on a real R8, he made a light body kit to fit his Mercury Cougar. This body kit can be buyed for just $50.000, and for this money + the cost to buy a mercury cougar you probably could buy an used R8 and have a real supercar in your garage.
If you look closely you`ll see that the front of the cars are very similar, but the rear are not. There you can see the limitations of the mercury cougar wich is not as wide as the R8, and it misses the dual exhaust tips.
If the cars looks similar we can`t say the same thing about performance and aerodynamics. Clearly the 2.5 Duratec Front Engine can`t compete against the 4.2 liter, 420 horsepower Center Engine, and neither the brakes, the aerodynamics, etc. If we look at the interior clearly R8 is the winner since our guy did nothing to modify the interior of the Cougar.
In the end we can say that this is a pretty good replica of the R8 but we still prefer the original.
They announced a V6 315 Horsepower engine for this car, and now with this videos who wouldn`t like the little pony ford will launch in 2010? Or is much much more than just a pony?
